Congratulations…to former student Jordan Hall, who received second honors as a 9th grade student at Magnificat High School for the first semester. It’s always nice to know that our St. Anthony graduates are doing well at the high school level.
Oops! Speaking of congratulations, yours truly missed the boat when I wished accolades to our families who exceeded expectations from the PTU Candy Sale. My apologies to 1st grade student, Olivia Schmitz, and her mother and father, Rebecca Jones and Walter Schmitz. They tied the other family for most sales.
Sharing the Good News…When we returned from Christmas vacation, our 8th graders had an important task to complete…applying for admission to a Catholic High School of their choice. Here we are a month later and letters have been sent to the homes of our 8th graders notifying them of THE decision.
Below is a list of our 8th graders who were accepted with their first choice and the Catholic high school they will be attending for the 2012-2013 school year.

Project C.O.P.E…From time-to-time, I’m pulled away from the school building to attend various Diocesan and administrative meetings. This past Wednesday, I was attending our monthly elementary principal’s meeting and heard a presentation regarding Project C.O.P.E. The project is about grandmothers raising grandchildren, which we have our share of here at St. Anthony School.
The project came out of Kent State University and there goal is to provide information that can help grandmothers get through the difficult job of caring for grandchildren in changing times. We have a brochure in the School Office if you are interested in additional information.
