St. Anthony’s computer lab is proud to provide 35 networked computer stations allowing each student access to a computer. The computers are connected to the Internet and each student is provided an individual account for logging-in, saving files, and turning in assignments.
St. Anthony’s state of the art computer lab enables a comprehensive, integrated technology curriculum. Lessons revolve around real-world applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and multi-media presentations. Students, grades pre-K through 8,gain new skills through both weekly lessons and open lab times.
The current curriculum concentrates on using software applications to reinforce classroom learning. This cross-curriculum approach allows students to enhance their technology skills while supporting various subject areas.
In addition to normal school day access, the lab provides opportunities for students arriving early or staying late in our afterschool latchkey program to utilize the lab for additional “technology time”. Students practice their math skills using the award-winning First in Math Online Mathematics Program (www.firstinmath.com), work on classroom projects, or practice newly developed computer skills. The computer teacher is on site to provide assistance. Summer Computer Classes are being planned to provide access to the lab during the summer months. A first-ever Technology Camp is also in the works. Students will use a variety of programs to complete a week long themed project.
