The regular monthly meeting took place in the school art room and was called to order at 6:35 p.m. The Lord’s Prayer was said as the opening prayer.

Present were Andrea Miceli, President, Heather Roule, vice-president, Gretchen Jancsura, treasurer, Amy Baughman, secretary, Kathleen Obermiller, teacher liaison, Barb Zahn, parish liaison, and members Jenny Pogorelc, Colleen Leibas, Mr. Meiras, and Michelle Kelling.

Treasurer Report: Gretchen Jancsura explained the treasure report (attached). The sale of the Friday shirts provided approximately $300 in profit. There were 230 shirts ordered with a second order planned.

The estimated profit from the mandatory candy bar sale is $9237.00 Thirty-five families have not responded, neither picking up their boxes nor sending in money for the buyout. There are extra boxes for anyone interested in selling them.

Committee Reports:
Bike Rally: Report was given by Amy Baughman. The Bike Rally was a fun, non-fundraising event which went over well.  Hopefully it can be done again next year.

Special Guest: Report given by Heather Roule. Due to lack of attendance at impromptu events, Heather wants to determine a date and plan the event with proper advertising, before committing to a speaker. The last week of November was suggested as a possible date. Heather will continue to work on the speaker.

Polar Express night: The tentative date is scheduled for Saturday, December 17th. Andrea has asked Holly Arra and Barb Webber to chair the event as they organized it last year.   They have not gotten back to her yet. Amy Baughman has confirmed that a projection and speaker system can be gotten as soon as the Holly and Barb submit what they will need. Kathleen Obermiller suggested having the movie in 3D. She has a copy. 3D glasses will cost an estimate of $29 for 50 glasses.

Spirit Wear: Diana Lesiecki did an inventory. We mainly have adult sizes in stock. We will set up a table at conferences and also take orders.

Pierogi sale: We will try to sell the 3,0000 dozen extra pierogi at all possible events including donut Sunday, conferences, and basketball games. We will also have a sale after the November 19th and 20th masses.

Jr. high Dance is scheduled for December 10th. Jenny Pogorelc will check with St. Peter’s to make sure there is no date conflict.

Santa Shop: Acknowledgement was given to the time and effort that Danielle VanHorn gives to this event.

Old Business:
Barb Zahn, parish liaison, spoke on the need to increase parish awareness of what PTU is about and how it supports the parish as well as the school. She encouraged the PTU to speak at masses. She will report to the Parish Council on PTU activities so that they are more aware of how our fundraising supports the parish-school community as a whole.

It was suggested that the PTU should invite the PSR students to shop at the Secret Santa shop and to include them in as many activities as possible.

New Buisness: Gretchen Jancsura suggested the PTU sponsor a family Bingo night. She gave details of its success at another school. We will try and have such an event in the future.

Heather Roule brought up the topic of a Parents Night Out movie for the Christmas Shopping season. Kathleen Obermiller has been involved with this in the past. She relayed that Miss Marshall the prekindergarten teacher may be interested in organizing this type of event.

Michelle Kelling brought up the issue of Cyber Texting and questioned the school policy on such activities. Jenny Pogorelc explained that there is a policy should the activity carry over to the school setting and policies are in place to handle the issues. She also explained that the school is in the process of addressing the issues formally with students.

Meeting adjourned at 7:59 p.m.
