St Anthony's Jr. Holy Name is for any Catholic St Anthony Student grades 6 - 8 and any St. Anthony parishioner in grades 9 - 12. Promote respect for the Holy Name of Jesus; Develop spiritual lives; Encourage performance of Christian Service.
In simple terms: It is a faith based group that focuses on service projects as well as activities to promote social and spiritual development. We meet monthly, usually on a Sunday evening, and plan the month's activities which include a Corporate Communion (we attend Mass together), a service project, and a social event.
In the past we have done things like gratis yard work for St Anthony parishioners, prepared food for a shelter, helped with the St Anthony giving trees, served the Fish Fry, run Food Drives, and assisted St Anthony St Vincent De Paul Society with their Food Drives. Social activities included Cavs games, tobogganing in Strongsville, sledding behind Golden Acres, gym lock-in, and breakfasts. We sign up new members in the beginning of each school year and annually make pumpkin rolls at Thanksgiving time to raise funds to offset the costs of our social events.
